Climate change is now the most pressing issue facing us today. South Wonston Parish Council declared a climate emergency in June 2022. We have formed a working group,
South Wonston Sustainability, whose mission is to encourage and support our community to evolve towards a climate friendly, smarter and more sustainable way of living. South Wonston Sustainability is organised by volunteers and is supported by two elected members of the Parish Council. We are part of Winchester Climate Action Network.

Our goals are:

• Liaise, learn and connect with other individuals, organisations and groups in our community to enable positive changes to reduce our impact on the environment.
• Reduce waste and consumption as a community, by refusing, reducing, reusing, repairing and recycling.
