The village is proud of its award winning play area, over the years new installations have been added and it is a very popular venue for local families who in the summer enjoy a lovely picnic and parents can watch their children play in a safe area. Recently we have added to the area two covered benches which have proved very popular with families and those who want to enjoy the surroundings.  

The local football teams (Swifts) play their home games at the recreation ground. The club has various age groups ranging from U8 to U18 and senior level, playing in local leagues in the Hampshire area. The Senior team have been promoted to the Hampshire Premier Division and now play at the highest level the village's team has ever played.
